Master Advisor Program

Advising @ UNCG

The Master Advisor Program, sponsored by the University Advising Council, is designed to educate and motivate both new and experienced academic advisors. The program is offered only in the fall semester. Faculty and professional advisors attend workshops on a variety of topics including campus resources, UNCGenie, General Education requirements, new advising models, and advising at-risk students. Participants who complete the program are given the title of Master Advisor. Master Advisors are encouraged to promote the importance of advising in their departments and to participate in the development of future advising initiatives on campus.

As of the 2008-2009 Academic Year, 262 faculty and professional advisors have completed the master advisor program and been recognized as master advisors.
