Spartan Success can help advisors and advisees have a better, more intentional experience. This developmental advising model helps students take responsibility for their education with seven important questions.
The First question encourages students to assess their personal, educational and career goals. From there, students work with faculty and professional advisors to determine the reality of those goals and to outline steps to work toward them. Additionally, advisors work with students to select courses, identify appropriate campus resources for assistance, and to evaluate decisions impacting their future. |
Students begin their academic career by assessing their personal, educational, and career goals. From there, students work with faculty and professional advisors to determine the reality of those goals and to outline steps to work toward them. Additionally, advisors work with students to select courses, identify appropriate campus resources for assistance, and to evaluate decisions impacting their future. The Advising Council sees the potential for the Spartan Success model to be used by all departments with its focus on the entire student experience, particularly emphasizing advising and mentoring. Spartan Success can help make the time a student spends at UNCG more meaningful.
